In a world that constantly bombards us with unrealistic standards and expectations, it can be difficult to feel good about ourselves and take time to nurture our souls. But as I share on a regular, “self-love is my spiritual practice,” and it is essential to our overall health.

Self-love is the act of valuing, accepting, and appreciating yourself for who you are. It means actively and intentionally treating yourself with kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and understanding. As you know, when we love ourselves, we become more confident, resilient, optimistic, and as the positive energy flows, we are more motivated to pursue our goals and dreams.

But we all know self-love is not always easy to achieve….even with purposeful intention. On those tough days, we criticize, judge ourselves harshly, and negative self-talk is constant.

Here are a few quick tips to cultivate self-love and build a high vibrational relationship with yourself. In addition, below, you can find a few pieces of content that can really help as well.

  1. Practice self-care: Take time to do things that bring you joy and aid you in relaxing. Examples: take a slow walk in nature, take a warm bath, light candles and incense, play your favorite music, and just chillax. Basically, prioritize self-care activities that will recharge your batteries.
  2. Surround yourself with positive people: Being around loving, supportive, and encouraging friends and family can naturally boost your self-esteem and confidence.
  3. Forgive yourself: We all make missteps and mistakes. Instead of beating yourself up, create space to forgive yourself.
  4. Focus on your superpowers: Instead of dwelling on your weaknesses, focus on your strengths and the things you are good at, and make you amazing. When you do this, it will automatically this will help build your confidence. At the end of the day…You are enough!
  5. Celebrate your WINS: No matter how small they may be, take time to celebrate your successes and acknowledge your accomplishments.

Self-love is a journey, and it takes mindfulness, time, and intentional effort to cultivate. Remember, you are worthy of love and happiness, and one of the best things you can do is “treat yourself!”
